Now aged 66 he also won the Veterans championship on the Warwickshire Avon in 2011 beating some of the country’s best veteran anglers in the process
His biggest fish happens to be an 18lb common carp caught in a match on the Warwickshire Avon, winning the match in style in 2012, but his most memorable Match was qualifying on Manor Farm for a National Knockout competition when Ivan Marks and Roy Marlow were champions back in the sixties.
Richy’s Goals are to keep on fishing regardless, with arthritis now being a major health problem he hopes he can keep on fishing and to help the younger team members to carry the Cardiff Nomad flame well into the future.
