Clive is another one of the founder members of the Cardiff Nomads, a stalwart angler that has seen him fish many team matches throughout the years for the Nomads from a teenager to now his 60th year.
He became a member when Nomads dominated the local scene back in the sixties, achieving the prestigious Angling Time finalist winning team
in 1962 and his individual results are possibly one of the finest in Cardiff Nomad History with numerous Roath Park Lake, Hendre lake, River Taff
Feeder wins to his credit.
His Open match record is second to none; with major wins on the River Wye, Gloucester Canal, Shrewsbury River Seven, Bristol Avon,
Shropshire Canal and many more including his favourite Warwickshire Avon of which he was the Wychavon Champion 2005 winning £1,000.
Possibly one of his best performances was winning the Welsh National Championships when over 450 fished the River Wye in 1979 with a catch
of over 20lb of silvers saw him beat the rest of the field.
Another Huge achievement was coming runner up in the prestigious European Championships on Holme Pierrepont Nottinghamshire beaten
only by a 1lb with 28lb fishing the Bloodworm Helping Cardiff Nomads into 4th place in this massive team event
In is hay day Clive was a regular Team Member of the Welsh Squad for many years also being involved in the World Championships Winning Team in
Bulgaria 1989 with other members of the Nomads
His Biggest match weight is a staggering 120lb of Roach n the River Ban Ireland all roach a feat many anglers will never accomplish or even see in their lifetime
Now into his 60th year and overcoming a major heart problem carrying a pacemaker Clive can still hold his own against anglers half his age. May he well carry on as a major team member for as long as he can push his trolley!
